Policies
-
Your privacy and confidentiality are my priority. Anything we discuss in sessions is treated with care and kept confidential, in line with GDPR, professional ethical standards, and legal requirements. Personal information is stored securely and used only for therapy and administrative purposes. In rare circumstances, I may be required to share information to keep you or others safe, or if legally required, and these situations are explained at the start of therapy. You can ask anytime about how your data is handled.
-
My standard fees are £70 per session on Saturdays, or £60 for weekday evenings, payable by BACS at the time of booking. Concession rates are available for students and trainee therapists, and I offer discounts for block bookings. Fees include room hire for in-person sessions, with additional costs applying only for travel, home visits, or enhanced background checks requested by the client.
-
Sessions are chargeable unless cancelled with at least 48 hours notice. If a replacement slot can be arranged within the same week, no charge applies, although this cannot always be guaranteed. Online sessions provide more flexibility, whereas face-to-face sessions depend on room availability.
-
I am committed to ensuring therapy is accessible and inclusive. I have personal and family experience with neurodiversity and disability, which informs my approach. If a space is not fully accessible, we can work together to identify alternative locations or adapt Walk or Wheel and Talk routes to make sessions comfortable and supportive.
-
I offer online and telephone sessions using secure, GDPR-compliant platforms. All you need is a device with a camera and microphone for video sessions. Privacy and safety are planned in advance, including the ability to pause or end sessions if needed.
-
As a professional therapist, I have a duty to act if there is a significant risk of harm to you or others. This may include contacting relevant authorities or support services. Any action taken is done carefully, with explanations provided wherever possible.
-
I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework, maintaining professional boundaries, evidence-informed practice, and transparency regarding training and experience. This ensures therapy is safe, professional, and tailored to your needs.
-
If you have concerns about therapy or the service provided, you can raise these directly with me. If resolution cannot be reached, you may escalate the matter to the BACP. Complaints are handled respectfully and promptly.
-
Therapy is not an emergency service. If you experience a crisis or risk of harm to yourself or others, please contact emergency services or crisis support lines such as Samaritans (116 123) or the National Suicide Prevention Helpline (0800 689 5652).
-
Therapy begins with informed consent and a signed agreement outlining confidentiality, session structure, and expectations. This ensures clarity and mutual understanding before starting therapy.
